Job Description
We are currently recruiting for AN experienced Senior Non-Destructive Assay Technician to represent ENERCON at a customer site in Piketon, Ohio (Portsmouth).
Typical job responsibilities assist and support management in ensuring proper completion and documentation of assigned non-destructive testing and analysis in accordance with all applicable requirements. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
• Perform tests and/or inspections and collect all testing data as necessary to evaluate materials
• Analyze test, inspection or statistical data to determine material composition, condition, structure and/or conformity as determined by appropriate testing protocol and operational requirements
• Document and communicate all testing and analysis results as required by protocol or procedure and in accordance with managerial direction. Validate /certify testing process and outcomes as required
• Monitor and notify management regarding adverse trends in test results, equipment operation or related factors; comply with all corrective action procedures as appropriate
• Set up, operate and calibrate testing equipment in accordance with protocol and requirements
• Assist in development of testing protocols, department procedures and other areas as assigned
• Acts as a resource to lesser experienced team members
• Can identify anomalies and produce data for NDA Engineering review and analysis
• Capable of interpreting QA/QC data in the lab or field to ensure measurement systems are functioning properly and completes and/or communicates measurement data in an efficient, legible and competent manner
• Ensure the main element(s) of interest for the measurements comply with specific Data Quality Objectives to meet customer (NCS, NMC&A and Waste) needs
• Support both lnSitu/Containerized NDA Measurement characterization (to include cascade components and piping) is required to be supported using commercial NDA equipment
• May be assigned to special projects
• Perform duties general/route to moderately complex in nature
• Other job-related duties as assigned
• Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
• Actively participates in Safety Work Groups
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• Technical Associate Degree (AS) / Technical Certificate of Study plus at least 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Must be knowledgeable of project procedures and requirements Basic knowledge of EPA, DOE, OEPA, state and local environmental regulations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must possess a DOE "L" clearance or the ability to obtain a DOE "L" Clearance (US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED)
Working Conditions:
• Work in an environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities). Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.
• Ability to wear respirator and other protective equipment to enter various types of potentially hazardous areas (such as but not limited to chemical, dust fumes, mists, heat stress factors, etc.).
• Ability to carry several instruments/equipment or tools while walking extensively. Potential prolonged walking/standing, repeated pushing/pulling.
• Potential for driving of or riding in a motor vehicle, machine operation, and/or working around moving equipment/machinery or motorized vehicles (such as but not limited to car, truck, golf cart, gator, heavy equipment).
• Ability to work in confined areas, tanks, heat stress conditions, high noise and areas with radiation and chemical hazards.
• Environmental conditions may include weather or temperature extremes, inclement weather (such as but not limited to wind, rain, excessive heat, excessive cold, snow/ice, etc.)
• Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person "buddy system"), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching.
• Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage.
• Radiological training will be required.
