Job Description

Compensation & benefits

  • $4,300 tour pay per 10-day assignment
  • $500 food stipend per tour (pre-paid debit card)
  • $500 travel stipend per tour
  • Lodging provided and fully paid by EMS Unlimited
  • On-call availability during 48-hour rest period paid at OT rates
  • Higher pay rates available for credentialed Critical Care Paramedics
  • Overtime paid in accordance with state and federal law

Add it up: $5,300 in guaranteed compensation per tour before any on-call OT — with zero housing or food expense while you're working.

The schedule — built for work-life balance

This is a 10-day tour structured as two 96-hour working blocks with a 48-hour rest period in between. You choose your rotation:

Option A — 10 on / 10 off

Work a 10-day tour, take 10 days fully off. Half your life is yours. Ideal if you want consistent income and regular time home.

Option B — 10 on / 20 off

Work one tour per month and take three weeks off. Perfect for those who want maximum time away — hunting, family, or a second gig.

During the 48-hour rest window within your tour, you may be available for on-call coverage at overtime rates

North Eastern, MT — remote medicine at its best

The northeast corner of Montana — open country, small community, and the kind of EMS environment where your skills actually matter. If you're someone who wants to practice at the top of your license, work without bureaucratic noise, and come home with a real sense of what you accomplished, this is that assignment. Hunting, fishing, and wide-open outdoors are right outside the door on your days off.

What you'll do

  • Respond to 911 emergency calls and interfacility transport (IFT) requests
  • Provide BLS, ALS, and — for CCPs — critical care level treatment and monitoring
  • Operate as a trusted presence in a small community that depends on you
  • Maintain unit readiness: equipment inventory, restocking, and cleanliness after every call
  • Collaborate professionally with hospital staff, dispatch, and partner agencies
  • Represent EMS Unlimited's values: patient-first, professional, safety-minded

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain Montana Paramedic licensure
  • Paramedic (EMT-P) or Critical Care Paramedic (CCP/FP-C/CCP-C) credential
  • Comfortable with autonomous, rural EMS operations
  • Strong clinical judgment and patient care orientation
  • Professional and reliable — small teams depend on every member showing up

Beyond this assignment

EMS Unlimited responds to wildfire, disaster, and special operations assignments throughout the year across multiple states. Medics who perform well open doors to additional tours, other station assignments, and broader roles within a growing organization.
