After you have worked for 6 months, we will put you through the next phase, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). When you are ready, we'll even pay for you to take the next step - Paramedic! POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform duties associated with basic medical and first aid services and emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and EMS Unlimited policies in the setting of ambulance and transport operations.

We are looking for friendly, caring, skilled professionals who can make sound clinical judgments and will pay attention to the special needs of our patients and satisfaction of our clients. Drivers are responsible for transporting wheelchair-bound as well as non-critical, critical and emergent patients between facilities.

Additional opportunities within EMS Unlimited will be made available to you but will require an application and approval/hiring process to join other teams. Those additional roles will be accompanied by additional offer letters and pay structures. 

COMPENSATION:

  • $300-$350 per day!
  • Overtime is paid as required by law according to the job being performed.

SCHEDULE:

  • Full-time: 36 hours per week or 72 on/144 off (3 days On, 6 days Off)
  • Part-time: Minimum 72 hours per month (12, 24, 48, 72 hour shifts)
  • PRN (Casual): Minimum 72 hours per quarter, Available 24 hours per month (12, 24, 48, 72 hour shifts)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive ambulances and other company vehicles, transporting patients to and from various medical facilities and/or home in non-emergency and emergency situations.
  • Provide assistance to emergency medical technicians during transport.
  • Assist EMT with providing oxygen therapy to patient(s).
  • Assist EMT with lifting the stretcher and securing patient(s) for transport.
  • Communicate with patient(s), staff and family members in a compassionate manner.
  • Communicate with medical facility staff regarding patient(s).
  • Regularly communicate with dispatcher(s) regarding transportation status and to provide critical information.
  • Document transportation activities, ensuring accurate information regarding the transportation is documented.
  • Maintain clean and orderly vehicle(s) and supplies in the ambulance.
  • The employee may be expected to cover EMS Unlimited event shifts while on shift for Transports.
  • Provide assistance on mental health transports as assigned.
  • The employee may access protected health information and other patient information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties.

  • Has a good working knowledge of all company policies pertaining to this position.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • The employee must have a minimum of either a high school diploma or a GED as evidence of completion of a high school education.

Certificates, Licenses and Age

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Vehicle operators must have a minimum of Two (2) years experience as a licensed driver
  • Able to pass an Emergency Vehicle Operator course (provided by us).
  • Able to pass a Emergency Medical Responder course (provided by us).
  • Previous training experience preferred.
  • Customer-service oriented.
