Job Description
We're looking for a dynamic and results-driven Outside Account Manager to join our team in Winnipeg, Canada. In this role, you will be the face of our organization to our valued customers, building and maintaining strong, ethical relationships while driving profitable sales growth. As an Outside Account Manager, you will develop comprehensive knowledge of each customer's business, become their trusted advisor, and ensure we serve as their primary supplier. - Visit customer offices, facilities, and job sites to assess business needs, develop strong relationships, and generate profitable sales opportunities
- Prospect and identify new customers within your territory; communicate viable prospects and market trends to management
- Lead and own the complete sales process, including preparing sales call reports, territory planning, and establishing growth targets
- Analyze customer data and market trends to develop and execute strategies that profitably grow market share while meeting or exceeding established targets
- Process orders, quotes, and job packages efficiently while maintaining accurate documentation
- Act as project manager for large accounts, maintaining detailed records of lead times and proactively communicating updates to customers
- Investigate and resolve customer issues promptly, addressing concerns in a manner that exceeds expectations and benefits the organization
- Collaborate with management and credit teams to facilitate timely payment of accounts receivable and communicate any changes affecting customer credit standing
- Develop and oversee implementation of strategic vendor programs designed to drive profitable business growth; participate in industry trade shows and conventions
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of products and value-added services to provide tailored solutions
- Adhere to all safety regulations at customer locations and within our facilities
- Support team activities and initiatives as requested by management
Qualifications
**Required Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree from a college or university, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer-facing sales role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills with customers, vendors, and team members
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to identify customer requirements and develop profitable solutions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining tight deadlines
- Intermediate mathematical skills
- Ability to learn and operate applicable software systems for order processing
- Territory management and prospecting experience
- Sales forecasting and pipeline management capabilities
- Understanding of credit management and accounts receivable processes
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Previous experience in the PVF (pipe, valves, and fittings) industry
- Experience with SAP and M3 enterprise systems
- Project management experience
- Vendor relationship management background
- Bilingual proficiency (French)
- Experience with CRM software platforms

Salary Range - $45,000-$65,000
