Overview

  • Seeking two Cloud Infrastructure Engineers to support the modernization of a large-scale pharmacy platform currently being migrated from a legacy VMware and Oracle environment into Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • This team owns and operates its cloud platform and is focused on improving infrastructure scalability, deployment automation, container management, security, and CI/CD maturity. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer who can independently build, deploy, and support cloud infrastructure while collaborating closely with development teams during North American business hours.
  • This is not a traditional support role. These engineers will actively contribute to platform modernization efforts and help accelerate cloud adoption across a critical business application.

 

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure within GCP
  • Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Support and optimize Kubernetes workloads running on GKE
  • Create, manage, and secure Docker container images
  • Identify and remediate container vulnerabilities and security findings
  • Support CI/CD pipeline improvements and deployment automation initiatives
  • Partner closely with application development teams to streamline software delivery
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, container, and platform-related issues
  • Assist with cloud migration and modernization efforts from legacy on-prem environments
  • Improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency across the platform

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE experience
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform in production environments
  • Strong experience building and managing Docker containers
  • Experience addressing Docker image vulnerabilities and container security concerns
  • Experience supporting Kubernetes environments (GKE preferred)
  • Experience within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Ability to work independently and drive infrastructure changes from design through deployment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • ArgoCD or GitOps experience
  • Cloud SQL experience
  • Experience migrating workloads from VMware or on-prem environments to cloud platforms
  • Experience modernizing legacy enterprise applications
  • Background in Platform Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
  • Experience supporting Java-based application environments

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidates will have experience supporting cloud modernization initiatives and will be comfortable owning infrastructure deployments end-to-end. We are looking for engineers who can:

  • Write and deploy Terraform without extensive oversight
  • Manage Docker images and container security
  • Support Kubernetes/GKE environments
  • Improve CI/CD processes and deployment velocity
  • Collaborate effectively with developers and stakeholders in real time
  • Operate in a fast-moving modernization environment
