Must Possess an active Florida D and G Security License
Must Possess an active Florida CCW (Concealed Weapon Permit)
Must Possess a Florida Driver's License
Must Possess your own firearm and duty belt (Level 3 retention). & 3 Magazines
Military/Law Enforcement/First Responder: 10 years (Optional).
Completed a minimum of 144 hours of Guardian Training Conducted by the Sheriff with an 85 percent passing on the firearms course. (Yearly requalification with the Sheriff's office is required to maintain your certification active).
Qualifications
Submit to and pass an initial drug test and subsequent random drug tests in accordance with the requirements of s. 112.0455 and the sheriff’s office, school district, or charter school governing board, as applicable
Pass a psychological evaluation administered by a psychologist licensed under chapter 490 and designated by the Department of Law Enforcement and submit the results of the evaluation to the sheriff’s office, school district, or charter school governing board, as applicable. The Department of
Law Enforcement is authorized to provide the sheriff’s office, school district, or charter school governing board with mental health and substance abuse data for compliance with this paragraph.
Successfully complete ongoing training, weapon inspection, and firearm qualification on at least an annual basis and provide documentation to the sheriff’s office, school district, or charter school governing board, as applicable.
Able to stand, walk, and move around outside and indoors for long periods of time
Be a minimum of 21 years of age
Be eligible to work in the United States
Fluent in both the written and spoken English language
