Position Overview:

Planning, scheduling and executing site operations on a day-to-day basis in accordance with approved time schedule and approved designs/drawings/instructions while ensuring that work is done safely following the best standard practices and approved procedures within the given financial budget targets meeting with customer requirements and to the right quality standards.

Tasks and Duties:

• Familiarizes with project scope of work, general requirements, applicable standards, technical specifications and project milestone schedule.
• Prepares work plan and implementation strategy in line with project schedule and customer requirements for the assigned tasks.
• Checks adequacy of assigned resources (manpower, equipment, materials, plant, tools and safety gear etc.) as required to complete the assigned tasks.
• Undertakes planning and scheduling of job activities, their assignment to working groups and progress monitoring on daily basis.
• Supervises work performed by working groups, sub-contractors and other agencies involved in project execution and provides guidance when needed.

• Identifies and provides emergency needs, as and when they arise, in coordination with site manager.
• Coordinates with members of execution team, supervisors, safety officer and QA/QC engineer.
• Facilitates implementation of industrial safety requirements, procedures and guidelines and takes remedial measures where needed.
• Ensures implementation of quality control requirements, procedures and guidelines and takes corrective actions where needed.
• Coordinates and facilitates testing and commissioning activities.
• Prepares and submits daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Ensures all documentation, progress reports, instructions and other records are properly maintained and safeguarded at site.
• Ensures prompt inspections, site measurements, approvals of completed work quantities and submission to concerned organizations.
• Assists in successful handing over and close out of the completed project tasks.

Requirements

• Practical experience in project site work, must have some experience in construction of transmission substations.
• Thorough knowledge of materials, equipment, tools and plant needed for execution of transmission substation projects.
• Capable of writing and presenting formal installation procedures and guidelines for electrical installations.
• Problem solving skills, supervision skills and guiding capabilities.
• Professional attitude, analytical, efficient, assertive, dedicated and result oriented.
• Good team-work and interpersonal relationship qualities.
• Excellent organization and effective coordination attributes
