On Campus Activity Leader – Residential Program

EF Language Travel is dedicated to encouraging global awareness through cultural exchange and language learning. EF LT allows international students ages 12 to 18 to explore another language and culture during summer homestay and residential programs in the USA lasting two to four weeks. In these escorted group travel programs, daily language lessons are combined with afternoon activities including sightseeing excursions, visits to local attractions, and cultural interest activities.

The Role
Activity Leaders will work alongside a co-leader to organize and participate in a full activity & excursion timetable for groups of mixed nationality students. You will live on site at CSULB for the duration of your contract. Activity leaders will report to the Activity Organizer.
Tasks will include, but not be limited to
- Attending Activity Leader training day
- Assisting with students’ arrivals and departures
- Delivering an initial welcome briefing to students on the first day
- Researching activity options and planning timetable accordingly
- Ongoing promotion of activities and encouragement of student participation
- Conducting daily meetings with students after lessons to communicate information regarding activity choices, meeting times and places, upcoming events etc.
- Daily liaising with co-leaders to discuss progress and plan future activities
- Attending and assisting the Activity Organizer at large events such as student dances and sports tournaments
- Attending & running ALL activities for your group
- Participating in the duty rotas when required e.g. disco duty, curfew duty, town duty, night duty, meal duties etc. (Residential Program only)
- Being aware of any potential situations that could arise within the student group and inform Management where necessary
- Responding quickly and efficiently to student questions and requests and liaising between students and management where necessary
- Ensuring the EF behavior code is followed by all students at all times and informing management immediately if there are any issues or problems
- Keeping activity records of attendance
- Organizing and distributing relevant supplementary materials to students for activities, excursions and study visits
- Ensuring all records, receipts and evaluations are handed in to Management at the end of the course
- Ensuring students receive the relevant souvenirs and certificates at the end of the course
