Job Description

Ratloop is seeking an experienced 3D FX artist to craft beautiful weapons, gadgets, technological and environment FX for their upcoming Unreal Engine FPS. You must have experience creating high quality and highly optimized particle systems in Unreal Engine. We are seeking a full time position, located in Montreal, QC, someone who is capable of technical problem solving and is comfortable with integration of assets inside of Unreal Engine. You must enjoy working autonomously and be highly responsible, as well as strive to deliver high quality results. A willingness to learn and to solve new problems is fundamental to being a successful team member at Ratloop Canada. Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience developing 2D and 3D visual effects in UE4;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Cascade;
  • Solid understanding of optimisation and level of detail techniques;
  • Familiarity with shader and material editing in UE4;
  • Willingness to learn technically and solve creative problems;
  • A passion for videogames and videogame art;
  • An online portfolio or reel demonstrating previous artworks;
  • Self sufficient when it comes to problem solving, time management and task management

Preferred Requirements

  • Shipped one or more console or PC videogame title(s);
  • Working knowledge of Niagara particle systems;
  • Experience with Realtime lighting (UE4);
  • Experience with blueprint (UE4);
  • Experience with asset pipeline (UE4) – integration of meshes, textures etc.;
  • A passion for sci-fi, including weapons, gadgets, props and environments.

Asset

  • Excellent technical skills in Unreal Engine 4;
  • Strong interest in gaming (especially FPS). Other skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Affinity with game design;
  • Autonomous and resourceful, ability to take initiative;
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
