Job Description

Are you an experienced Wind Turbine Technician or electrical maintenance professional looking for a role where every day brings a new challenge and a genuine opportunity to support the UK's transition to a net zero future?

At EDF power solutions, we’re shaping an Electric UK and Ireland. Your work will help us turn that ambition into action – delivering renewable energy solutions that will power homes, businesses and communities for generations to come.

As part of our Fenlands team, you’ll help keep critical onshore wind assets operating safely and efficiently. From fault finding and maintenance to supporting major component replacements, your expertise will play a key role in maximising turbine availability and delivering clean energy generation.

The Opportunity

As a Wind Turbine Technician, you’ll join a skilled team responsible for maintaining and optimising onshore wind turbines across our Senvion asset portfolio. You'll work on a variety of planned and reactive maintenance activities while developing your technical expertise in a fast-moving renewable energy environment.

Alongside a salary range of between £37,700 to £50,000 per annum according to experience, you'll be based from our #Fenlands Service Centre in #Whittlesey, #Peterborough. Working hours are 37 hours per week for new technicians, with overtime available. For this role, you'll generally live within 45 minutes of site and hold a full UK driving licence.

You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of turbine systems and technologies, contributing directly to renewable energy generation. No two days are the same, and you'll play an important role in maintaining high safety standards while supporting turbine performance across our operational sites.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a Wind Turbine Technician who takes pride in delivering safe, high-quality maintenance work and enjoys solving technical challenges in demanding operational environments. You'll be safety-focused, reliable, and motivated to contribute to the performance of renewable energy assets. To be shortlisted, you need to offer…

  • Previous experience as a Wind Turbine Technician, or significant electrical and mechanical maintenance experience within an engineering environment
  • Experience working on three-phase electrical systems or heavy plant electrical equipment
  • A full UK driving licence
  • The ability to live within approximately 45 minutes of the #Fenlands Service Centre, PE7 2EU
  • The ability to work at height and travel to other UK sites if required

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Reporting and planning daily maintenance activities
  • Managing local spare parts and consumable stock
  • Completing proactive repairs and component replacements to minimise downtime
  • Supporting major component exchanges including gearbox and generator replacements
  • Supervising specialist contractors and subcontractors when required
  • Delivering safety inductions for contractors and visitors
  • Participating in the out-of-hours on-call rota and responding to turbine breakdowns
  • Helping maintain the highest possible levels of turbine availability
