  • Career area: EPR Engineering
  • Primary Contractual Location: Aztec West
  • Term of Employment: Permanent

Job Description

Ready to shape the digital foundations of one of the UK's most significant nuclear programmes? Do you want your expertise to influence how engineering data is managed across a major infrastructure project while supporting the future of clean electricity generation? At EDF, Success is Personal, and this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact while growing your career your way.

The Opportunity

As a Solution Architect, you'll play a leading role in defining and governing the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) architecture that supports the Sizewell C project. Working within the Plant Integration Data and Tools team, you'll help ensure engineering data is managed effectively, enabling configuration control, traceability, and long-term project success as we continue our journey towards An Electric Britain.

EDF EPR Engineering UK delivers the design for nuclear island buildings, systems, and equipment for Hinkley Point C and similar projects. Working as part of an integrated team, EPR Engineering supports construction and commissioning while preparing design-replication feasibility and related engineering activities.

You'll join us on a salary starting of £70,000 per annum, with the potential for an annual bonus. This role will be based at our #Bristol office at Aztec West. You'll collaborate with colleagues across the UK and France, supporting a diverse and international engineering environment.

This is a unique opportunity to influence the design and implementation of a critical PLM solution at the heart of nuclear new build delivery. You'll provide architectural leadership, guide technical and functional decisions, and help establish scalable, compliant solutions that support both current and future project needs.

Who You Are

We're looking for a Solution Architect who combines strong technical expertise with a structured approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement. You'll be comfortable working across engineering, digital, and business teams to create effective PLM solutions. To be shortlisted, you need to offer…

  • A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical discipline
  • Experience working within the nuclear industry, including knowledge of EPR technology
  • Proven experience with PLM platforms, including Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE and/or Netvibes
  • Proven experience delivering PLM solutions within major nuclear projects
  • Strong expertise in PLM data models, lifecycle management, configuration management, and change management
  • Experience of systems integration and working with APIs
  • Fluent English communication skills

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Defining and governing the end-to-end PLM solution architecture for the Sizewell C project
  • Aligning PLM capabilities with business requirements, engineering processes, and IT standards
  • Providing architectural direction and design authority across PLM implementation activities
  • Overseeing system integration, data management, configuration control, and change management processes
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the UK and France to support delivery of the project replication strategy

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a salary starting of £70,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That's why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that's unique to you. Here, Success is Personal – it's your journey, powered by us.
