Job Description
Ready to use your electrical expertise to power the safe delivery of one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects? Join EDF in this Electrical Engineer role at Hinkley Point C, where you’ll turn complex engineering challenges into real-world progress. Here, Success is Personal, and your impact matters.
The Opportunity
As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in solving complex electrical challenges across the MEH programme, supporting one of the UK’s most ambitious nuclear projects. You’ll help resolve technical issues, guide design decisions, and ensure safe, high-quality delivery.
You’ll join us on a salary starting of at least £56,506 per annum. This role is based at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, with an onsite presence required to support collaboration and delivery across multidisciplinary teams.
Working closely with internal and external partners, you’ll contribute to our journey towards An Electric Britain. You’ll build expertise in a highly regulated environment, gain exposure to complex systems, and make a lasting impact on the UK’s energy future.
Who You Are
As an Electrical Engineer, you bring strong technical expertise, a proactive approach, and confidence working both independently and as part of a team. You’re comfortable solving engineering challenges in fast-paced project environments. Are you experienced in…?
- Demonstrable electrical engineering experience within large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects
- Hands-on knowledge of IEG (electrical earthing and grounding) systems, including cabling design and installation
- Experience working with electrical cabinets and switchboards, including design involvement
- Ability to design and assess electrical systems, including producing cable lists and calculation notes
- Proven experience delivering engineering solutions in site-based or construction environments, resolving technical issues through to completion
To be appointed to this role, you’ll need to meet Security Vetting requirements. This usually means you must have lived in the UK for at least three of the past five years.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting design delivery by reviewing engineering outputs and resolving technical queries
- Managing electrical scope gaps and producing key documentation such as cable lists and design notes
- Collaborating with designers, suppliers, and site teams to ensure alignment across interfaces
- Identifying and mitigating risks that could impact programme delivery
- Supporting construction readiness through work pack preparation and technical input
Pay, Benefits and Culture
Alongside a starting salary of £56,506 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.
