The Opportunity

As a Civil Engineer, you’ll support the development, construction and operation of renewable energy assets across onshore wind, solar and battery projects. You’ll apply civil, structural and geotechnical expertise to help deliver safe, reliable and high performing solutions.

Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this role offered on a hybrid working basis. You have the flexibility of working partly from home and also in any one of our offices (#Edinburgh, #Durham or #London). You’ll also travel for meetings, site visits and collaborative sessions that keep you connected with colleagues and projects.

You’ll join a growing technical team where you’ll develop your skills, build relationships and contribute to a diverse renewable portfolio. You’ll support technical decisions, develop solutions and help shape engineering standards across our projects.

 

Who You Are

We’re looking for a Civil Engineer who is proactive, organised and motivated to support high quality renewable energy projects. You enjoy solving problems, building strong relationships and delivering effective engineering support. To be shortlisted, you need to offer…

  • A solid background in civil engineering design and/or construction and preferably some time in the renewable energy sector
  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related subject
  • Working towards or holding chartership with the Engineering Council through a relevant institution
  • Understanding of renewable energy technologies and associated civil, structural and geotechnical requirements
  • Experience preparing preliminary or concept designs including layouts, drawings, access routes and constraints analysis
  • Experience delivering civil, structural or geotechnical designs from feasibility through detailed design
  • Experience preparing technical specifications, employer requirements and technical documentation
  • Experience working in multi disciplinary teams and building effective professional relationships
  • Experience conducting technical and commercial negotiations with contractors, consultants or statutory bodies
  • Experience managing contractors and consultants

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering civil, structural and geotechnical engineering activities across development and operational projects
  • Supporting engineering decisions that ensure safe, high quality and cost effective project delivery
  • Preparing and reviewing designs, specifications and technical documents
  • Working collaboratively across disciplines to maintain asset integrity and project performance
  • Providing technical insight to improve project outcomes and reduce engineering risk
