Job Description

  • Part-time (0.6 FTE) – Mondays & Tuesdays, plus a third day of your choice
  • Location: Ringwood with occasional work at Ferntree Gully, on Wurundjeri Country
  • Salary: From $51.23 per hour + 12% super + generous salary packaging benefits up to $18,550

Your role, your impact

  • Provide individual and, where qualified, couples counselling to promote recovery and healing from abuse, family violence, trauma, and loss.
  • Use trauma-informed approaches, prioritising relationship safety and recovery.
  • Continuously assess risk and create safety plans using the MARAM and Child Wellbeing frameworks.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and external stakeholders (police, lawyers, child protection, etc.) to ensure safety and positive outcomes.
  • Refer clients to appropriate services and support, and participate in group and individual activities.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a supportive, inclusive workplace.

Who we’re looking for

  • Minimum three years’ experience in family violence, trauma counselling, or related fields.
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling, or equivalent.

  • Registration with a peak body (AASW, PACFA, ACA)
