Job Description

The Technologist in this role will work closely with a highly-technical team of
scientists and engineers developing novel microsystems and materials for both
government and commercial sponsors. The candidate will contribute to fundamental
research and will operate photolithography and other microfabrication tools for
the Advanced Materials group. The candidate should also have the demonstrated
ability to work well in a team environment, be able to plan and execute
microfabrication work with minimal supervision, and be flexible enough to adapt
to new directions and research objectives, as sponsors' needs change.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess an Associate's degree (or higher) in a related area of
study and at least two years of work experience in a micro fabrication R&D
or production environment. Some basic familiarity with photolithography mask
aligners, pattern generators, reactive ion etchers, deep reactive ion etchers
(DRIE), thin film deposition processes, and/or wet chemical etching processes is
expected. The candidate must be able to comply with all safety and security
procedures, including OSHA standards and HAZMAT.

Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in a related field are preferred, but not
required. Candidates with a background in photolithography and micro fabrication
technologies are preferred, such as for the production of microelectronics,
micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS), and/or micro optics; experience in at
least one of these areas would is strongly desired. Knowledge of cleanroom
protocols and safety protocols for working with corrosive chemicals is also
useful. Some work experience with laser processing of materials and materials
characterization techniques (e.g. scanning electron microscopy, X-ray analysis,
etc. ) is also helpful, but not required.

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final
Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret
Clearance.
