Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who will be required to ensure compliance and beyond to all Mining Charter and Social and Labour Plans (SLP’s) targets for the Mine by managing both the Social Compliance function and the Enterprise Development function of the operation.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Manage compliance to all Mining Charter and Social and Labour Plan issues at the operation
Manage the Enterprise Development function
Work in close liaison with the DMR and other relevant stakeholders
Work closely with various responsible persons in the areas of Mining Charter, SLP, Community Development as well as operational personnel responsible for compliance
Manage social complexities at community and operational level
Coordinate Social Impact Assessment (SIA) for the mine
Must be willing to travel
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12
B Degree in any of the following: Social Science; Human Behaviour; Human & Social Science (Development Studies or Community Development); Social Dynamics
Management diploma/qualification would be advantageous
Computer Literate
3 years related working experience
Valid drivers’ license
Other Skills/Competencies:
Good communication skills, particularly in English, with excellent quality academic writing skills
Stakeholder relationship management
Conflict Management
Understanding of Socio-Economic dynamics and complexities
Strong managerial skills
Flair for working with external stakeholders and local municipalities
Sensitive to the needs of the local communities
