At Dungarvin, we do meaningful work that shapes futures. We’re looking for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support children and teens (ages 12–21) with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our residential program.

- Wage: $18 /hour (the rate of pay and pay scale provided for this position are based on title and geographical location) Full Range Scale $18.00 - $20.05 per hour

Job Description
What You Get To Do:
The DSP (caregiver) is responsible for providing direct support, hands-on instruction, assistance, and positive direction to children, teens, and young adults (ages 12-21) with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a manner that ensures their health, safety, successful achievement of service objectives, and personal goals.

- Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
- Prepare meals and snacks.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
- Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
- Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- 6 months of professional work experience supporting vulnerable populations required (ex. caregiver, nanny, paraeducator, direct support professional, etc.)
- 6 months of volunteer experience may be used in leui of professional work experience.
- Must be 21 years of age or older per Washington state licensing requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Have a passion to help youth through person-centered care
- Dependable, adaptable, and flexible
- Must be able to provide references
- Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training
- Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
