Job Description
What You Get To Do:
Working directly as a Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver, you will be able to assist in a ICF group home by assisting people with disabilities achieve a variety of outcomes, assist with personal cares and provide normalization/community integration. The Lead DSP (caregiver/mentor) is responsible for providing:
- Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
- Coordinate services for the individuals served, including finance, medical, recreation, program services, family contact/involvement, education, and household management.
- Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
- Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, and more.
- Perform housekeeping and laundry duties, including cleaning, organizing, maintaining a safe and tidy living environment, and washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes and linens.
- Build relationships with persons served and teammates.
- Attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events.
- Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.
- Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
- Document progress, milestones, and action steps.

Qualifications
What Makes You A Great Fit:
- Valid Drivers License (due to transporting persons served)
- Candidates must be comfortable driving company vehicles to transport persons served as required
- Some positions / locations may require own personal vehicle and auto-liability insurance based on the role
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Experience with adults with mental health issues, disabilities or related experience
- Excitement for working with adults with disabilities
- A successful background clearance is required as part of the onboarding/employment process
- Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
Nice to have:
- Prior education and/or experience in residential services for the developmentally disabled preferred
- Prior experience leading peers/ co-workers
