Job Description
What You Get To Do:
A Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect.
- Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
- Coordinate services for the individuals served, including finance, medical, recreation, program services, family contact/involvement, education, and household management.
- Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
- Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, and more.
- Perform housekeeping and laundry duties, including cleaning, organizing, maintaining a safe and tidy living environment, and washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes and linens.
- Build relationships with persons served and teammates.
- Attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events.
- Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.
- Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
- Document progress, milestones, and action steps.

Qualifications
