Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As our AP Accounting Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind our Accounts Payable operations—leading a seasoned and capable team while championing process improvements to support a fast-growing, multi-state organization.
You’ll oversee the day-to-day functions of a high-volume AP department (processing over 65-70K invoices annually ), mentor a dedicated team (including 6 AP Specialists, a Lease Administrator, and an AP Supervisor), and play a critical role in the successful implementation of our new ERP system.
- Lead and mentor the accounts payable team, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing.
- Oversee ledger entries, account reconciliations, and A/P data systems.
- Partner with the Controller to improve workflows and implement process enhancements across 15 states.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and handle audit/government inquiries.
- Assist with financial forecasts, compliance reporting, financial statement preparation, and in-depth financial analysis.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance, 1099 processing, lease payments, and audit support.
- Oversee lease administration (Yardi) and supervise the Lease Administrator to drive operational improvements.
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
We need someone who’s both numbers-savvy and people-focused—a strategic thinker with the ability to lead, adapt, and continuously improve.
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of AP (Accounts Payable) experience or accounting experience
- 2+ years of team leadership experience
- Strong financial ERP systems experience and Excel Mastery
Nice To Have:
- Experience with Workday, GreatPlains (GP) and/or Yardi
- Exposure to acquisitions or M&A Environment

- Maintains a composed and professional demeanor in high-pressure or fast-paced environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support individuals with diverse communication styles, fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment.
- Skilled in cultivating strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams, vendors, and external partners
- Experience in streamlining workflows, automating processes, and managing change
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects (e.g., ERP transitions, acquisition integrations).
- Comfortable navigating organizational growth and shifting priorities.
