WE OFFER: 

  • Wage: $24.50/ hr 
  • Schedule: 8 AM - 5 PM CST (some flexibility available).

Job Description

The Leave Specialist will handle all aspects of LOAs including communication with employees, approve FMLA leaves; manage workers' compensation claims; track COVID activity, and provide notifications; and accommodations for leave situations

  • Management of all Leave of Absence in accordance with State and Federal guidelines.
  • Management of Employee Accommodations requests and responses.
  • To effectively manage workers' compensation claims.
  • To effectively manage COVID-19 tracking and HR processes.

Qualifications

MUST HAVE:

  • 4-year degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 2-4 years of except level human resources experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have strong computer skills to work in multiple systems, including but not limited to HRIS, ATS, and LMS.


NICE TO HAVE:

  • PHR or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP 
  • Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration a plus

Additional Information

SKILLS CRUCIAL TO SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE:

  • Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
  • Human Resources experience with companies supporting 1000+ employee workforces 
  • Communication is another important skill for a leave administrator. You may be in charge of communicating with employees about their leave requests, communicating with managers about employee absences and communicating with other administrators about leave policies. 
  • You can also use problem-solving skills to help employees find solutions to challenges they may be facing in their personal lives.
