A Residential Coordinator / caregiver provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities. Job Description

What You Get to Do: 

  • Coordinating a variety of services including, but not limited to; individual finances, community integration, program implementation, family involvement, and education/vocational programs
  • Program planning, assessments, and implementation
  • Communicating with the Nurse, Consumer Benefits Coordinator, Health Service Coordinator, and maintenance staff
  • Assist in direct training, follow up, and coaching with program staff
  • Build relationships with persons served and teammates.
  • Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
  • Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene and more.
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
  • Attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events.
  • Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.
  • Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
  • Document progress, milestones, and action steps.

Qualifications

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in residential and/or support services for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Leadership skills, observant and detail oriented
  • Person-centered, patient, and kind
  • Dependable, adaptable, flexible
  • Positive role-model for others and able to work on a team
  • Committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment
  • Computer skills for documentation
  • 18 years or older, high school diploma/GED, and basic computer skills
  • Successful clearance of a criminal background check for licensing requirement
  • Valid Drivers License, personal vehicle and liability insurance
