Job Description

The Emergency Response Community Support Staff (CSS) is a pivotal position for services provided to an individual in his or her own home. 

Staff will use their personal vehicle for response transportation and will receive mileage reimbursement.

Staff will be providing primarily emergency response services however, they may also be providing in-home support as well when needed.  CSS is responsible for duties of the supervisor during all direct care shifts in all service settings. CSS is expected to be knowledgeable of various service settings across the organization and may be scheduled to work in both residential and community-based services. CSS staff will be expected to perform all duties consistent with and appropriate to the service setting in which they are working. 

Core responsibilities:

  1. Provide in person emergency mental health response to people with mental health diagnosis who are in crisis.
  2. Will provide direct support coverage. Both in-home and in-community settings.
  3. Create, edit, and implement ISPs.
  4. Administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Hours: Part-time days. This is a combination of an in-office and road warrior position.

Qualifications

  1. Experience in ICS (integrated community supports) or HCBS (home and community based services) field.
  2. Staff should have strong problem solving skills and be open to learning or have experience handling crisis situations.
  3. Experience working with people that have mental health diagnosis and crisis intervention is preferred.
  4. Experience providing individuals with remote support and verbal counseling is preferred.
  5. Must have a smart phone, reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and auto insurance.
  6. Experience working with people with suicidal ideations and other crisis intervention.
  7. Flexible and possess good communication skills.
