Job Description

The Area Director is responsible for the management and operation of multiple programs, producing high quality care and services. This position provides leadership and direction to first-line supervisors in promoting the concepts, beliefs, and purpose of the programs and to promote a positive and supportive attitude to the individuals we serve, families and guardians, employees, and partnering agencies. The Director will assure services comply with all applicable licensure, certification, and contract standards. The Director has responsibility for the overall financial management of assigned programs and will work in conjunction with the Senior Director to maximize growth, implement business plans and marketing goals to grow census, improve occupancy and utilization in core services.

Candidate should anticipate travel in-between Long Beach, Signal Hill, and Norwalk and 1-2 times a year to Northen California. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services field (Psychology, Counseling, Allied Health, Educational Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, etc.) 
  • BCBA preferred 
  • 3 years Human services experience in the fields of intellectual/ developmental disabilities or mental health with at least 5 years of management experience required.
  • Candidate should have experience with services ventured by California Regional Centers, and prefer day program service experience. Prefer candidate with licensing experience.
  • Financial management skills and budget experience 
  • Strong knowledge of the State and federal laws and regulations; including Title 22, Title 17 is pertinent to the success of the Director.
