Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for all preventative, corrective, and renovative maintenance of assigned buildings, grounds, vehicles, and property, including planning, implementation, quality assurance, and budget adherence. 

  • This is a driving position -- a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required
  • This position will involve traveling between Dungarvin's locations throughout the Milwaukee area, Waukesha, Oak Creek, Janesville, and Madison
  • All work-related driving will be done in a company vehicle
  • A personal vehicle is not required for this role

Location: The Dungarvin maintenance office, located in Waukesha, will serve as this employee's home base.

Wage: $22.00 per hour

Scheduled hours: Full-time, with 40 hours per week guaranteed. The standard schedule is 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday-Friday, but the employee's availability must be flexible to accommodate special needs and projects.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Support our persons served by providing maintenance services in their place of residence
  • Collaborate with peers in a way which upholds the Dungarvin mission
  • Promote solution-focused, positive, and clear communication
  • Provide quality, timely and cost-effective service
  • Maintain written and verbal communication with the supervisor and other personnel
  • Promote positive teamwork with program staff and other organizational departments
  • Be knowledgeable about the Maintenance Request System
  • Accomplish assigned maintenance tasks to the standard of quality, priorities, and efficiency determined by the supervisor
  • Work safely and keep work area safe for others.
  • Maintain records and complete documentation of work accomplished, time, purchases, etc. as requested by the supervisor
  • Assist with the preparation of annual maintenance plans
  • Track the progress of annual maintenance plans
  • Act as foreman on jobs performed internally
  • Orient other maintenance and household staff
  • Initiate and attend all required orientation/trainings as defined in policy

Qualifications

  • At least (2) years’ experience in building maintenance, including heating, plumbing, electrical, and general repair
  • Must have at least a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must possess ability to evaluate cost effectiveness and preventative measures
  • Must have good decision-making and communication skills, be responsible, mature, flexible, and able to work independently and as a team member
  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Must have a cell phone (you will use your phone for work purposes but will receive a stipend)
