Job Description

The Mental Health Coordinator (MHC) is responsible to coordinate a variety of services including but not limited to individual finances, activities, program services, positive behavioral support needs, family involvement, education/vocational programs, health care/nutrition and household management. MHC is also responsible for staff scheduling. The MHC is responsible to assist the supervisor in maintaining consistency in programming, individual care, and communication with staff and support team members. The MHC is also responsible to carry out the responsibilities and duties of the behavioral support staff during all direct care shifts.

The Mental Health Coordinator is a specific position assigned only to specific locations. The position and its corresponding wage is not transferable when working at other locations. This position is dependent on specialized funding of specific individuals served. If the person served transfers, is discharged or the funding is eliminated, the position and wage will be eliminated from the designated locations.

Qualifications

  • Must have two to three years’ experience in delivery of significant behavioral health services.  
  • A minimum of one-year of lead staff experience in residential services or a two-year degree in a related field.
  • Need the ability to understand and implement behavior support plans, treatment plans, functional assessments, individualized support plans, and person-centered plans.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License, auto insurance and acceptable driving history.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED Certificate, basic computer skills, and a minimum of two to three years’ experience in the delivery of behavioral health services.
