Dungarvin is a national company providing supports to people with disabilities within the community. We provide a variety of community-based services to help people live the best quality life.

We are seeking an energetic, passionate individual to fill a Program Director position.  The Program Director is a key position that is responsible for providing leadership and management of supported living and other community-based supportive services in the Janesville and surrounding areas.

Salary range of $49,000 - $55,000 (depending on meeting certain qualifications)

Some key responsibilities of a Program Director include:

  • Achieving valued outcomes for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Oversight/management of direct care professionals including staff development/training & management, program scheduling
  • Promoting quality service delivery and care plan development
  • Working collaboratively with people inside and outside of the organization in the provision of supported living
  • Services diversified programmatic experience with apartment settings for individuals with medical and behavioral needs


Supervising day to day operations and management of program services, including but not limited to:

  • Foster and facilitate choice-making in all major life areas
  • Make people part of the community by facilitating friendships, relationships, and intimacy
  • Assess and assure satisfaction of people with disabilities and their families/guardians with services and their life situations
  • Promote self-determination by assuring that people choose and realize their personal goals
  • Support and supervision of direct support professionals/caregivers
  • Individual Service Plan (ISP) development, training and management
  • Collaborative relations with internal and external stakeholders to promote quality service delivery and least restrictive care
  • Supportive home care and supported apartment service delivery – strong emphasis on schedule coordination/management and manager supervision/development  

Program Directors are expected to make regular visits to the homes they support to coach staff, to establish rapport with and a working knowledge of individuals living in the homes, and to provide quality assurance. Program Directors are also expected to participate in rotating on-call responsibilities and must be able to respond to calls that occur outside of the working hours listed above.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field OR a minimum of 3+ years of demonstrated experience in service delivery and operations of programs for individuals with disabilities or within the human services field
  • Demonstrated experience supervising others including coaching/training
  • At least one year of experience working with persons with disabilities or within the human services field
  • Prior experience working with Adult Family Homes (AFH), Community-Based  Residential Facility (CBRF), or Assisted Living facility is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated competence in areas of decision-making, time-management, and strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Computer competence – ability to navigate within Word, email exchange, and software platform (i.e.: Kronos/payroll entry and processing)
  • Flexibility and responsibility to respond to changes in daily focus and tasks; ability to maintain professionalism while managing challenging situations and a diverse employee team
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and state required liability insurance

Additional Information

Program Directors should be: 

  • A role model for Dungarvin employees, by virtue of the way they work with individuals with disabilities and their community support teams.
  • Should model appropriate behavior for team members by proactively identifying issues and constructively working to solve problems.
  • Will accept responsibility for overall coordination of the efforts of the community support team to include individuals with developmental disabilities in the life of their communities.
