Job Description

Do you want to help others by using your experience or education in mental health or behavioral health? Do you want opportunity for advancement in the mental health field? Come work with a dynamic Acute Behavioral Support team in our Spring Valley programs serving 1 to 2 people who have intensive and interfering mental health needs. Candidates will have the opportunity to create lasting positive impacts on people's lives through  coaching, redirecting, mentoring, and encouraging others to reach their goal. Current opportunities available include:

Full-Time

  • Tuesday-Saturday 2pm-10pm
  • Tuesday-Saturday 6am-2pm
  • Tuesday-Saturday 10pm-6am
  • Sunday-Thursday 6am-2pm

Part-Time

  • Tuesday-Thursday 10pm-6am

 

Working as a mental health specialist, you will be able to assist individuals in a residential setting with intensive and interfering mental health needs by providing positive behavioral support and individualized planning. You will be a part of a team, providing support to individuals with a variety of activities, including daily living skills, money management, appointments, community integration and following their support plans. Acute Behavioral Services utilize a person-centered approach to creating a program that focuses on supporting a person to reach their goals, while still considering the safety of the individual, staff, and the community.  Ideal candidates will have a desire to create lasting positive impacts on people's lives and enjoy coaching, mentoring, and encouraging others to reach their goals. Desired candidates must be able to remain calm, resilient and positive during times of verbal and physical aggressive behaviors.  In this program we provide support to both adolescents and adults with diagnoses including but not limited to: Autism, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), Borderline Personality Disorder, Mood Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • 3 years of experience working with mental illness and/or education in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Current auto liability insurance
  • Reliable transportation
