Job Description

The Mental Health and Behavioral Professional is responsible to develop and implement programs and services to remediate behavioral and social problems for persons served. This position will travel to programs throughout the state of Minnesota. The Mental Health and Behavioral Professional must have competencies related to:

  • Behavior reduction/elimination strategies that promote least restrictive approved alternatives for those who have co-occurring mental health or neurocognitive disorders
  • Data collection, tracking and reporting; demonstrated expertise with populations of mental health and cognitive impairments
  • Ethical considerations related to behavioral services
  • Functional analysis
  • Functional assessment; measurement of behavior and interpretation of data
  • Identifying desired outcomes
  • Selecting intervention strategies to achieve desired outcomes
  • Staff/caregiver training
  • Support plan monitoring and revisions

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in behavior analysis or a behavioral health-related field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling, etc.); AND At least 2years of experience developing and implementing positive support interventions for individuals exhibiting challenging behavior and/or co-occurring intellectual/developmental disability and mental illness.
  • Must communicate effectively in written and oral form using positive interpersonal skills. 
  • Experience with functional behavior assessment/functional behavior analysis. 
  • Experience in the development and implementation of affective/social skill lessons. 
  • Must have good decision-making and communication skills, be responsible, mature, flexible, and have management experience. 
  • Must have a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record. 
  • Clearance of a Minnesota DHS background study

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensure or certification in relevant field of expertise (e.g., BCBA, NADD-CC, LICSW, LP, LSW, LPCC, etc.) or eligibility for licence or certification with at least year of post-master's supervised experience in the delivery of clinical services in the above competency areas  OR
  • A licensed professional clinical counselor with at least 1 year of post-master's supervised experience in the delivery of clinical services who has demonstrated competencies in the above areas
