FUN FACT:

Our founders (Husband and wife duo) Tim and Diane Madden opened the first Dungarvin program, an ICF/MR serving 15 people, in St. Paul, Minnesota, in March 1976. Tim and Diane were the live-in “houseparent’s” for that first program. Through the success of that program Dungarvin has grown to employ approximately 4,000 people who currently provide supports to over 4,000 individuals across 14 states.

Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility is to ensure that all preventive, corrective and renovative maintenance needs of assigned buildings, grounds, and vehicles are completed in accordance with licensure and regulations. This position is also responsible to complete maintenance repairs as necessary.

  • To ensure residential homes, grounds, and property are well maintained and in good repair at all times.

  • Routinely check homes for repairs or remodeling needs .

  • Prioritize and implement repairs needed at  assigned locations.

  • Respond to emergency situations in a timely and responsible manner.

  • Perform basic maintenance repairs and ensure the quality meets the licensure and regulatory guidelines.

  • Routinely check company vehicles and schedule regular maintenance repairs.

  • Ensure all vehicles are secured with proper vehicle license, registration, and liability insurance.

  • Maintain a current and accurate inventory of tools, generators, and any other maintenance equipment.

  • Ensure all tools, generators, and other maintenance equipment is working and in proper condition.

  • Ensure that the storage of the maintenance equipment is kept in a secure, clean, and organized location.

  • Maintain the keys and/or lock codes of all property in a secure and confidential manner.

  • Review maintenance requests and prioritize tasks in order of necessity.

  • Document maintenance repairs accordingly.

  •  Maintain documentation on all external vendors, including comments on the quality of their work.

Qualifications

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma/GED equivalent certificate. 
  • Prior experience desired in building maintenance, including heating and cooling, plumbing, electrical and general repair. 
  • Must possess the ability to evaluate cost effectiveness and preventive measures. 
  • Must possess solid communication and decision-making skills. 
  • Must be responsible, flexible, and able to work both independently and as a member of a team.
