Dungarvin is a national organization of privately-owned companies who are dedicated to providing high quality, community-based supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, people who are faced with mental health, behavioral or significant medical challenges, and to children and their families. Our founders, Tim and Diane Madden opened the first Dungarvin program, an ICF/MR serving 15 people, in St. Paul, Minnesota, in March 1976. Tim and Diane were the first live-in support staff for that program. Dungarvin has since grown to employ more than 4,000 people who currently provide supports to over 4,000 individuals across 14 states.

Job Description

The Director is responsible for the management and operation of multiple programs, producing high quality care and services. This position provides leadership and oversight of host home services. The Director will assure services comply with all applicable licensure, certification, and contract standards. The Director has responsibility for the overall financial management of assigned programs and will work in conjunction with the State Director to maximize growth, implement business plans and marketing goals to grow census and utilization in core services.

Qualifications

  • Must have good decision-making and communication skills, be responsible, mature, flexible, and have strong leadership experience.  Prior experience in residential programs for persons with developmental disabilities and with Desert Regional Center is desired.
  • Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional according to federal and state guidelines, or education and experience comparable as determined by the state director.  Must have a bachelor’s degree in a human service or related area and supervisory experience; master’s degree preferred.
  • 3 years Human services experience in the fields of intellectual/ developmental disabilities or mental health with at least 5 years of management experience required. Financial management skills and budget experience in excess of $4 million. 
  • Strong knowledge of the State and federal laws and regulations;
