This is an exceptional opportunity for a leader dedicated to the provision of progressive and goal-oriented supports in the community for people with developmental disabilities.  We are seeking a Program Director for a partial community inclusion adult day program in Long Beach, California.  

Job Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Overall operations of the day program
  • Community integration
  • Developing and monitoring quality services to the people we serve
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Hiring, training and supervision of staff
  • Compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • Development of Individual Service Plans (ISP) and the coordination of behavioral supports
  • Coordinating the services of consultants
  • Facility management
  • Budget management, managing supplies and equipment
  • Financials, payroll and scheduling
  • Collaboration with stakeholders and partners
  • Fleet management and oversight 

POSITION:

  • Full-time organizational position, requiring schedule flexibility to accommodate various program, individual and staff needs
  • This position is on-call at all times during program operations unless prior arrangements have been made for someone of comparable authority to receive calls.

Qualifications

  • At least 21 years old
  • Bachelor’s degree in the human services field
  • 3 years of experience in a human services delivery system
  • At least 1 year in a management or supervisory position OR 2 years of experience or training in one of the following:
    • Care and supervision of individuals served in a licensed adult day program or an adult day health care facility
    • Care and supervision of one or more of the categories of persons to be served by the day program
  • Experience working with Regional Centers and people with development disabilities 
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Pass criminal background check FBI/DOJ
  • Physician's clearance and TB test clearance 

Candidates must have:

  • A sincere belief that any person can benefit from the experiences and encouragement to integrate into the local community, with supports to live as independently as possible
  • A commitment to leadership that fosters a culture of mutual respect among the team of employees

The following education, experience, and/or certifications would be an asset, but are not required:  

  •   Experience working with Community Care Licensing and knowledge of Title 22 and Title 17 regulations
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual programs, budget implementation and supervising others
