Do you like technology? What about Robots? Have you ever wanted to work hands on with a robot? We do that! Our Day Program was 1 of 10 organizations selected to pilot Temi the Robot! We are looking for someone who enjoys technology and also providing DSP care to join our Day Program team! 

 

The Coordinator-Day Services is a pivotal position within the program.  This individual performs all of the responsibilities and duties of the Coordinator-Day Services, and in addition holds primary responsibility for developing volunteer and leisure activities within the community and at the program, as well as developing and providing activities that are expected to increase skills, provide work experience, foster choice, expand personal networks, and build relationships with individual and community members with like interests.  The Coordinator-Day Services provides individuals served with the opportunity to learn socialization and other life skills. This position should assist in direct training, follow up, and coaching with the DSP-Day Services, keeping the Program Director/Area Manager informed at all times.

1.       Ensure all individuals, their family members, community members and co-workers  are treated with dignity and respect

2.       Assure individual, family, or community concerns are responded to promptly by communicating such issues to Dungarvin supervisors.

3.       Facilitate the full inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the recreation, volunteer, and other activities of their choosing.

4.       Create and use natural supports and support individuals in a person centered manner.

5.       Observe and evaluate individuals’ skills to determine acuity level.

6.       Assess the difficulty level of tasks and identify tasks for assignment that will provide the individuals served an opportunity to successfully accomplish the tasks.

7.       Assist in the development and implementation of short and long term goals for the individuals under the direction of the Program Director/Manager.

8.       Develop new volunteer and work opportunities in the community based on interests and skills of persons served.

9.       Document the individuals’ progress of his/her goals as well as his/her daily activities using Therap or other documentation systems.

10.   Perform or assist individuals with physical or personal needs promptly.

11.   Provide skill training to individuals served including but not limited to, maladaptive behavior reduction, self-help, communication, community living, domestic, ADL, and prevocational skills, including safety awareness.

12.    Provide instruction to individuals served to successfully complete various tasks and activities.

13.   Maintain records and complete paperwork as required by Dungarvin including but not limited to Kronos time recording, mileage, petty cash, medication documentation, pre-trip vehicle checklist, incident reports and goal data.

14.   Collect, review for accuracy, and ensure timely submission of weekly billing documentation.

15.   Collect monthly paperwork and submit completed packets to the Program Director/Area Manager.

16.   Maintain the transportation route schedules. 

17.   Ensure program vehicles receive regular and routine maintenance.

18.    Adhere to individual’s behavior and health management plans including but not limited to administration of medication, use of behavior modification techniques, and dietary restrictions.

19.   Maintain a safe environment for the individual; prevent harm to individual, self, and others.

20.   Protect individuals served from abuse, neglect, or exploitation, and ensure the protection of all individual and human rights.

21.   Report any and all incidents or safety concerns to the Program Director/Area Manager or emergency on-call supervisor in accordance with policy and procedure.

22.   Transport individuals to and from the program, recreational activities, or other activities in a safe and timely manner.

23.    Manage individual’s and agency's funds in accordance with Dungarvin policies and procedures, and report any suspected or actual misuse of individual or agency funds or property.

24.   Serve as a positive role model to individual(s).

25.   Complete all required trainings prior to their expiration per Dungarvin conditions of employment.

26.    Keep up to date with current Dungarvin and regulatory licensure standard policies and procedures.

27.   Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Position requires 3-4 years of experience working with persons who have developmental or intellectual disabilities
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Current auto liability insurance
  • Reliable transportation
