Job Description

This position is primarily responsible to conduct tasks associated with identifying placements for foster children. This position will provide support to the Foster Care Program through various forms of administrative tasks. This position offers the opportunity for advancement within the Foster Care Program, making it an excellent position for someone new to the Social Work field.  

Responsibility:  Provide support to Foster Care Program through various forms of administrative tasks.

Duties:

  1. Represent the organization in a positive, professional, and responsible manner.

  2. Work cooperatively with internal and external contacts to ensure services are provided in a timely manner, on a basis of quality according to organizational standards, contractual requirements and regulator guidelines.  

  3. Be responsive.  Phone calls, emails, text messages, and all other forms of communication should be responded to within 24 hours (or the next business day).

  4. Promote positive working relationships with foster care providers and amongst foster care providers.

  5. Demonstrate willingness to be part of the team and to assist in completion of work/tasks related to the program needs.

  6. Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA at all times.

  7. Consistently implement good self-management and time management prioritization and completion of assignments and responsibilities.

Qualifications

Minimum of 18 years of age.  The Foster Care Program Assistant will have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in a Social Services field. LSW is preferred, but not required.  Previous experience in foster care services is preferred but not required.  The Foster Care Program Assistant must be responsible, mature, flexible, and possess solid decision-making, time management and communication skills.   This position will require excellent people skills and the ability to forge relationships with foster care providers and collateral professionals.   The Foster Care Coordinator will demonstrate initiative and possess the ability to work independently.
