Our founders Tim and Diane Madden opened the first Dungarvin program serving 15 people in St. Paul, Minnesota, in March 1976. Tim and Diane were the live-ins for that first program and they have continued their leadership of the organization since. Through the success of that program Dungarvin has grown to employ approximately 4,500 people who currently provide supports to over 5,500 individuals across 15 states.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN ) to help support the continuous enrichment and development of individuals with disabilities. Are you burned out from high-stress and long hours or are a new graduate? This is the role for you!

The LPN's main functions for this role will be to provide primary health care, monitor health conditions, plan long-term care needs, administer medicine, daily usage of medical equipment, perform minor medical operations, advise patients on their illness, care and provide continued duty of care. 

  • Conduct routine site visits (mask required) : checking vitals, doing assessments, counseling of medication administration, and documenting progress utilizing Therap.
  • Ensure that everyone receives quality, individualized health care management, resulting in their optimal health 
  • Assure health care documentation and reporting meets licensing, contracting requirements, and organizational policy.
  • Promote the concept of teamwork and facilitate appropriate involvement of team members to promote quality healthcare supports.
  • Act as a health/medical resource for staff, training and delegation of staff.

Qualifications

MUST HAVE:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse licensed by the New Mexico board of nursing 
  • Proven 1 year of nursing experience (can include schooling).
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
  • Basic computer skills
  • Covid-19 Vaccination (religious and medical exemption allowed).
  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
  • Current auto liability insurance
  • Reliable transportation

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual, physical, and behavioral disabilities.
