Job Description

The Area Manager is responsible for the overall management and administration of programs/services and new development in assigned geographic areas of the state. This includes budget development and implementation, rate negotiation, licensing, strategic evaluation and planning, staff development, hiring and supervision of program directors and assigned support staff, policy development, marketing, and proposal development.

Must be flexible to accommodate various programs, personnel and organizational needs, including evening and weekend hours, and overnight travel as indicated. Some rotational on-call duties may be required to meet business needs as well.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, social work, psychology or other related field required; Master’s degree in Human Services preferred
  • Three-plus years of related experience with significant management experience in the human services industry
  • Supervisory experience, multi-state management, and middle to upper management experience in a related field.

  • Experience in project development and sound financial management preferred. 

  • Sound decision-making and communication skills

  • Prior experience in residential programs for individuals with disabilities is preferred.

  • Very strong leadership experience
  • Strong financial background
  • Strong organizational and negotiating skills
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and implementation
  • Ability to solve problems, take risks, inspire confidence and facilitate communication
  • Other education and experience, plus licensure as required by state.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Strong Word, Excel and Outlook experience
