Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity for a leader dedicated to the provision of long-term stable supports in the community for people who are medically fragile. We are currently seeking a Program Director for two Adult Residential Facilities for Persons with Special Health Care Needs (ARFPSHN) in Los Angeles County. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

In this role, you will be responsible for 24/7 operations of the home, including program services and quality assurance, hiring and supervising staff, compliance with regulations, policies and procedures, coordination of health and medical services, collaboration with stakeholders and partners. The administrator works full-time and is on call at all times unless coverage has been arranged. 

Most importantly, the setting is HOME to the people who live there. It is  an adult residential facility that provides 24-hour health care and intensive support services in a homelike setting that is licensed to serve up to five adults with developmental disabilities. 

Candidates must have:

  • A sincere belief that any person can benefit from the experience of living in a home integrated in its local community, with supports to live as independently as possible
  • A commitment to leadership that fosters a culture of mutual respect among the team of employees working in the home

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • At least 21 years old and able to pass a background check by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), health screening and TB test

  • At least one year of administrative and supervisory experience in a licensed residential program for persons with developmental disabilities, and is one or more of the following:

    • A licensed registered nurse.

    • A licensed nursing home administrator.

    • A licensed psychiatric technician with at least five years of experience serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

    • An individual with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the health or human services field and two years’ experience working in a licensed residential program for persons with developmental disabilities and special health care needs.

 

The following education, experience, and/or certifications would be an asset, but are not required:

  • Completed any of the trainings and certifications for RSO, ARF, DSP I & II, First Aid/CPR
  • Experience working with regional centers and Community Care Licensing and knowledge of Title 22 and Title 17 regulations
  • Experience serving people with “special health care needs” which require nursing support
  • Experience serving people with “special health care needs” which require nursing supports

Once hired, the administrator will be required to achieve and maintain certifications for ARF Administrator, DSP I, DSP II, First Aid, and CPR.
