Job Description

We have a fabulous new role with a leading publisher. This role is ideal if you are looking to start a publishing career.

Based in Oxford this super role will involve working with the Editorial/Rights team and will provide the successful person with a broad and varied publishing experience.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Editorial Administration – organising books for review, dealing with editorial queries and requesting titles and material from publishers and agents.
  • Dealing with Contracts, including following up outstanding contracts and generating contracts
  • Participating in covers meetings and administering the production schedule
  • Liaising with production over titles to supply as download and creating and supplying metadata to download distributors
  • Updating information on the masters schedule and processing invoices
  • Proofreading catalogues and helping with proofing and marketing copy creation
  • Uploading review files

This is a must-have role if you are looking for your first job in publishing and the successful person will ideally have some experience in an office environment, possibly an internship, excellent attention to detail and strong organisational and communication skills. You will have a passion for the publishing industry, be self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task. Strong IT skills are a must along with a can-do approach to work.
