Job Description
Job Summary
This role is for a Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Compliance Manager responsible for driving regulatory adherence, operational safety, and environmental stewardship across plant operations at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. The position requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in SHE policy implementation, risk assessment, hazardous waste management, and regulatory coordination. As a key enabler of sustainable operations, this role will oversee compliance with Pollution Control Board (PCB) regulations, manage Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) performance, and ensure alignment with OSHA 18001 and ISO standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for implementing SHE policies, conducting risk assessments, and monitoring hazardous waste reduction to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- You will be responsible for organizing safety committee meetings, conducting equipment inspections, and performing internal audits to uphold safety standards and drive continuous improvement.
- You will be responsible for guiding cross-functional teams in facilities compliance, investigating incidents, and initiating Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies to mitigate operational risks.
- You will be responsible for facilitating SHE audits, coordinating with auditors, preparing audit presentations, and maintaining OSHA 18001 and ISO 14001 documentation and manuals.
- You will be responsible for assessing environmental footprint, monitoring emissions and hazardous waste, and overseeing Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) operations in compliance with PCB regulations.
- You will be responsible for preparing Consent for Establishment (CFE) and Consent for Operation (CFO), securing necessary permissions for WWRF operations, and ensuring proper waste handling and disposal.
- You will be responsible for conducting mock drills, identifying training needs, developing training modules, and facilitating workshops to build awareness and capability in SHE practices.
- You will be responsible for collaborating with Human Resources for manpower planning, recruitment, performance appraisals, and coaching, while identifying and retaining high-potential talent.
Qualifications
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Educational Qualification
- Graduation in Chemical Engineering mandatory.
- Post Graduation in Environmental Management/Sustainability is preferred.
- Certification in NEBOSH IGC, NEBOSH PSM, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 or equivalent is preferred.

Critical Exposures
- 8+ years of experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental roles or manufacturing operations within pharmaceutical, chemical or manufacturing industries is desired.
- Experience with safety frameworks such as HAZOP, behavior-based safety (BBS), and incident investigation systems is desired.
- Exposure to SHE audit systems, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (OSHA 18001) compliance documentation, and regulatory certifications is preferred.
- Experience with hazardous and chemical waste handling infrastructure, legal permit management, and regulatory registers under PCB norms is desired.
- Experience in Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) operations, environmental monitoring systems, and statutory consent processes (CFE/CFO) is desired.
