Job Description
We're looking for an experienced and decisive Lead - Production Planning to join our organization in Pydibimavaram, India. In this pivotal role, you will drive production planning strategies and lead a team to optimize manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient resource allocation and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with meticulous attention to detail, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Develop and execute comprehensive production planning strategies aligned with organizational objectives and market demand
- Analyze demand forecasts and historical data to create accurate production schedules and capacity plans
- Lead and mentor a team of production planners, providing guidance on best practices and performance expectations
- Optimize inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs and ensuring product availability
- Collaborate with sales, procurement, and operations teams to align production plans with business requirements
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and production efficiency
- Implement and manage ERP systems to streamline planning processes and enhance data accuracy
- Identify process improvement opportunities and drive lean manufacturing initiatives
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management on production metrics and strategic recommendations
- Manage supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans to maintain operational continuity
Qualifications
**Required Skills & Experience:**
- 8-12 years of progressive experience in production planning, demand planning, or supply chain management
- 3-5 years of demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms)
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with expertise in forecasting methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production planning software
- Comprehensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholders
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management capabilities
**Required Education:**
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field
**Preferred Certifications & Domain Expertise:**
- APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) certification
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Experience in manufacturing environments with complex production requirements
- Knowledge of capacity planning, master scheduling, and material requirements planning (MRP)
- Familiarity with advanced planning and scheduling (APS) systems
