Role Summary:
- The Medical Affairs Manager plays a leadership role in Medical Affairs by providing valuable medical insight, developing medical strategies, and overseeing the execution of medical initiatives for assigned categories to significantly contribute to the execution of Company’s overall strategic imperatives in Vietnam. This position will also actively contribute to the areas of Business Strategy, Policies and Procedures
- The Medical Affairs Manager is responsible for ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance in execution of medical-to-medical initiatives and stakeholder-centric engagement, in relation to field-based medical activities.
- The Medical Affairs Manager supports the training and development of Medical Affairs Scientist Junior and is also responsible for quantifying field medical impact and monitoring Medical Affairs Scientist Junior, BU performance management to maximise the impact of medical activities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
External Medical and Scientific engagement strategy and implementation
- Support development of BU medical strategy for external stakeholder engagement in alignment with individual business unit medical strategies
- Establish and strengthen medical and scientific relationship between Field Medical Scientific specialist, BU team and external stakeholders
- Ensure effective data communication and medical insight capturing
- Collaborate with Field Medical Scientific specialist, BU team on conduct of advisory boards; organisation and delivery of relevant educational/training workshops/meetings; and participation in medical/scientific conferences.
Research/ Clinical development
- Ensure compliance of operational requirements
- Knowledge of R&D capabilities in the country, serves as a link between Company and local institutions for scientific synergies/opportunities/collaborations
- Ensure development of scientifically valid and ethical protocols, study plans and appropriate reporting of local studies, as necessary
- Ensure high quality, timely implementation, and delivery on clinical programs
- Ensure leveraging of clinical operations expertise for support to business goals, and conversely, ensure adequate support of commercial operations to clinical research objectives
Medical Affairs Manager | BU Training and Development
- Capability development, building high performance field medical team (if any), enhancing sharing of best practice and cross-BU/cross-functional collaborations
- Ensure marketing team, BU sales team capability (excluding scientific knowledge) related to field medical execution, quality of operation and compliance
- Solicit and consolidate feedback from external and internal stakeholders in relation to team effectiveness, quantify and communicate the value and effectiveness of field-based medical activities
- Develop, monitor and report KPIs in relation to field-based medical activity
Other Medical Affairs projects as assigned by the Country Head
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirement:
- More than 5 years’ experience in medical affairs role
- Tertiary education in medicine; relevant specialty training desirable
- Industry, clinical, research or academic experience; with track record of publications preferred
- Knowledge of clinical research and clinical development processes desirable
