Job Description

i. Responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring the activities project implementation;

ii. Develop and implement work plan and operations strategy, monitor activities of the Project and ensure accurate and timely reporting to management

iii. Ensure 100% delivery against planned project results in the work plan. Closely track slippage against work plan and take corrective action;

iv. Drive the pilot of new interventions and scale them up post the success of pilot by bringing engagement of field teams and stakeholders from the beginning; analyse and document the learning process and share to the management

 v. Commission activities like field-level assessments, training workshops, stakeholder visits etc. and manage the other operational aspects of procurement, logistics etc. in coordination with the designated department;

vi. Foster partnership and liaison with key government and relevant technical institutions for the district model and implement various project-specific interventions with them.

 vii. Coordinate with other Core team members in improving the systems and processes for strengthening the program by piloting new process-related activities, contributing to the design of the new processes and implementation of them in spirit and action by self and team.

viii. Identify the capacity development needs of the team/ partner agency and arrange for necessary training. Facilitate technical assistance/support for the project  in all relevant areas as appropriate like Agri extension, pilot to scale-up model, farm mechanization, post-harvest value addition and M&E processes;

ix. Undertake field visits to track progress made in the implementation of the project and take corrective action as required;

 x. Coordination with external consultants, technical specialists and partner organization employees for the necessary tasks completed from their side.

xi. Review quality and consistency of reports and deliverables by team/ partner institutions/ responsible parties including financial reports

 xii. Regular financial management and reporting as per the organisation’s financial guidelines; Ensure effective financial management and reporting as per the organisation’s financial guidelines;

xiii. Facilitate and drive the periodic review meetings and discussions related to project implementation, monitoring and follow-up;

xiv. Supervise the work of team members or consultants or partner organisation, as may be recruited under the Project;

 xv. Implement feedback mechanism for continuous improvement of the    project performance

 xvi. Represent and promote the organization on different platforms so as to foster the development of new partnerships at district/ state level

xvii. Monitor and disseminate emerging best practice in Agri extension, Agri market, farm mechanization and post-harvest value addition, particularly as they affect farmers and their livelihoods in the project location.

xviii. Would undertake additional responsibilities as per the management’s decision communicated from time to time based on the organization need.

Qualifications

Masters’ Degree (Preferably in Social Work / Agriculture Extension / Agribusiness management)

The Manager- Operations should have a good understanding of agriculture extension and community-owned program implementation with adequate experience of practical situations of state of Bihar. S/he needs to be well conversant with the available knowledge on issues related to agriculture input business/ agriculture marketing/ community platforms and scale-up models in farm livelihoods domain

 Essential:

· At least 5 years of Program/project management experience;

· At least 5 years of relevant post-Masters Experience at the state/ region level on agriculture extension/ farm livelihoods and Agri input business-related programmes;

·  Outstanding communication, project management and organizational skills.

Desirable:

·  Experience of working with NGOs/ Agri input companies/ startup on similar assignments will be preferred;

·  Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems is essential.

Language:

Excellent oral and writing skills in English and Hindi.
