Our client is a contemporary 60 room, 1 restaurant boutique hotel in Nairobi that combines the best of hospitality serenity and elegance in its accommodation conferencing and restaurant. We seek a talented and experienced General Manager to provide overall team leadership and work with the Board to guide the hotel to the highest quality in standards and services.

About the role
As General Manager- Sales & Marketing of the hotel, you will be responsible for the day to day management of and oversee and manage all aspects of sales operations and marketing. Through your guidance, the respective teams shall thrive and give optimal performance in the areas of sales and marketing, guest services, employee relations and the look and feel of the hotel.
You are a champion for an open inclusive and warm culture in the hotel among staff, ensuring that all guests have a superlative experience while also seeking feedback on areas of growth and improvement. All the while you are working closely with the Board to reflect on and apply the mission and vision, because you know that values and company culture are the basis of delivering the strategic objectives to the hotel's stakeholders.
This position reports to the Board of Directors.
Role Profile:
The role is an integral managerial role with key responsibilities across the following areas:
- Responsible for giving overall leadership guidance and direction to the teams that handle accommodation, catering, conferencing and other hotel business.
- As having commercial accountability for planning organizing and directing all hotel services they will develop and implement sales operations and marketing strategies to enhance guest satisfaction, revenue generation, and cost control.
- Be the brand and creative lead to grow the brand quickly and deeply.
- The role holder will be ultimately responsible for the training and performance monitoring of staff in all their roles in the areas of sales and marketing.
- Analysis of sales figures and recommending marketing and revenue management strategies to ensure sales and profit targets are met and exceeded.
- Manage social media platforms, create high visibility of the brand through creative below the line programs and initiatives.
- Overall responsible for compliance with relevant licensing laws, Health Safety Environment and Quality (HSEQ) codes and other statutory obligations.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork, communication, and professional growth among staff members.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a prompt and professional manner.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in hotel and conferencing operations.
Qualifications
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have the following professional and personal skills, competencies, and characteristics:
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of Four (4) years’ management experience in the hotel or hospitality industry in a similar establishment (or relevant industry).
- A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, or Sales & Marketing or Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge:
- Strong sales and marketing knowledge, including fine dining, conference, accommodation and marketing.
- Excellent Brand management experience.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and drive profitability.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality communication standards.
- Excellent communication and social media and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of PR will be an added advantage.
- Remuneration:
The successful candidate shall attract a competitive gross salary of Kshs. 250k and benefits package.
