We seek a dynamic and experienced Finance and Administration Manager to oversee financial operations and administrative functions across our three restaurant chains.

Job Description

As the Finance and Administration Manager, you will play a critical role in managing our high-end restaurant business's financial health and administrative efficiency. You will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and analysis and overseeing administrative processes to ensure smooth operations. Your strategic thinking, attention to detail, and strong financial acumen will contribute to our restaurant chains' continued success and growth.

This position reports to the General Manager.

Role Profile:

The role is an integral role with key responsibilities across the following areas:

Financial Management:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the overall business objectives of the restaurant chains.
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, and monitor performance against targets.
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to improve profitability, cost control, and financial decision-making.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Oversee cash flow management, including monitoring cash positions, forecasting cash requirements, and optimizing working capital.
  • Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and external stakeholders for banking services, loans, and financing needs.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to evaluate investment opportunities, assess financial risks, and provide recommendations.

Administrative Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate administrative functions, including procurement, inventory management, facilities maintenance, and contract management.
  • Implement efficient administrative processes and systems to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including licenses, permits, and employment regulations.
  • Manage payroll processes, benefits administration, and employee records in compliance with HR policies.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure working environment.
  • Collaborate with department heads to support their administrative needs and ensure smooth cross-functional operations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technology advancements relevant to finance and administrative functions.

Qualifications

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have the following professional and personal skills, competencies, and characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are a plus.
  • Several years of financial management experience, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in administrative management and knowledge of relevant administrative processes.

Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting, financial modelling, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with restaurant-specific financial systems or software is advantageous.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proven track record in managing financial operations, cash flow, and financial risk.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid organizational and time management abilities, with the capability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to the restaurant industry.
