Our client would like to fill the position of Senior Product Manager - Supply Chain Digitization who will be reporting to the Global Head of Product.

 

 

Job Description

The jobholder will be responsible for ensuring profitably of the company’s product portfolio. This
will include sourcing and bringing quality products into the market; positioning and pricing as well
as ensuring the company’s products are quality-assured and well differentiated from competition.
The position holder will be responsible for reporting on profitability per product and category and
developing product marketing budgets and plans for various flagship products.
This role will be ideally based out of one of our offices in
• Nairobi, Kenya (HQ)
• Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
• Kampala, Uganda
• Kigali, Rwanda
• Bangalore, India
This role may also be remote as long as the time zone difference to East Africa is not impractical.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take charge of developing the product vision and planning the roadmap for supply chain digitization.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative research in form of in-depth stakeholder interviews and structured data analysis to determine system requirements
  • Prepare meticulous make-or-buy analyses for key technology implementations
  • Draft detailed product requirements for UX designers and engineering teams
  • Lead sprint execution in collaboration with engineering management
  • Communicate & coordinate diligently with technology stakeholders
  • Plan and orchestrate feature releases
  • Measure & report success on implementations

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate has ≥4 years’ experience in designing & implementing as well as integrating third party warehouse & inventory management systems and/or
  • State of the art ERP systems and/or
  • Fleet management systems and/or
  • Route & delivery optimization platforms and possesses the following skills & traits
  • Expert in agile product management practices and tools
  • Systemic thinker conversant with reading erds and designing architecture diagrams and data models
  • In-depth knowledge of fundamental supply chain processes and key accounting principles
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Diligent and forthcoming collaborator across multi-disciplinary teams

Minimum Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related
  • 5 years’ experience in product, business development and sales from the industry
  • International business exposure is a critical requirement
  • Relationship management and Key account management skills and experience
