Job Description

  • To lead the development and execution of a broad-based, company-wide CSR, EHS & strategic sustainability objectives.
  • To oversee integration of sustainability initiatives throughout the company.
  • To report on the company’s sustainability effort.
  • Reports to the General Manager
  • Lead the effort to create a sustainability vision for the company encompassing people, profit and planet.
  • Annual Group Sustainability Report.
  • Interpret ,manage EHS , CSR and Sustainability programs highlight the business impact
  • Develop the business case to address sustainability programs
  • Secure and leverage senior level commitment and support for integrating sustainable development into core processes and decision-making
  • Monitor the company’s long- term sustainability agenda and lead the development of a high- level strategy to support them
  • Collaborate with the company’s internal groups (Production Managers, Quality Control, , engineering Distribution & logistics , EHS,CSR , Sales & marketing, etc.) to develop a coordinated sustainability plan.
  • Build sustainability principles into short and long-range business planning, capital planning and operations planning
  • Form and lead an internal Sustainability Steering Committee that will help shape  and initially oversee the launch of the Sustainability effort of the company.
  • Oversee and define the scope of the Committee, short term and long term. Appoint the Committee members, define duties and assign the Committee accountability
  • Serve as the internal leader and “go to” expert for sustainability, monitoring emerging trends, programs and issues, and communicating and educating others on sustainability topics
  • Identify, prioritize, and recommend strategies for proactively addressing relevant sustainability, EHS and CSR issues.
  • Foster a culture of sustainability through ongoing organizational communication and education
  • Offer expertise and provide leadership-level support for initiatives to reduce company- wide resource consumption and waste generation.
  • Facilitate internal and external communications and visibility as the company spokesperson on sustainability Matters
  • Create and implement communication strategies to publicize the company’s sustainability effort and promote broad awareness of sustainability initiatives, both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to interface with external organizations, customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with customers
  • Knowledge of key company business practices and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively
  • Works closely with company executives, managing directors, general Manager and all other managers
  • Consistently exhibits company values in all interactions with employees and customers

 

Qualifications

 

  • Must have a BSc in communications, journalism, liberal arts, or equivalent experience in communications, preferably in a manufacturing or Agricultural value Chain / engineering company
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
