Hourly Pay: $24.00
Schedule: Sunday – Friday (Primary unloading responsibilities Monday–Friday; inventory control support on Sundays)
Start Time: 5:00 AM - Finish

Position Summary

The ICL / Unloader is responsible for supporting both inventory control and inbound warehouse operations. This position ensures inventory accuracy, supports stock transfers, unloads inbound freight, and assists the unloading and sanitation team to maintain an efficient operation. The ideal candidate is flexible and able to transition between inventory control, unloading, replenishment, picking, and transfer activities based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Sunday – Inventory Control & Operational Support

  • Perform daily inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Research inventory discrepancies and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Monitor inventory levels and immediately escalate low inventory concerns to warehouse leadership.
  • Replenish the cooler to maintain product availability and support warehouse operations.
  • Assist with cooler replenishment during picker break periods.
  • Receive and unload any late arriving freight or Stock Transfer Order (STO) deliveries.
  • Assist with all aspects of inbound and outbound stock transfers, including receiving, staging, processing, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Once inventory responsibilities are complete, assist the Unloading/Sanitation Team by unloading trailers, clearing inbound trucks, and supporting warehouse recovery efforts.
  • Flex into order picking or other warehouse functions as operational needs require.

Tuesday – Friday – Unloading Operations

  • Safely unload inbound trailers in accordance with company standards.
  • Support all inbound and outbound stock transfer activities.
  • Support sanitation and housekeeping activities within the unloading area.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock area.
  • During operational downtime, perform inventory counts, investigate inventory discrepancies, assist with replenishment, or support order picking.

Inventory & Warehouse Support

  • Deep dive inventory issues to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counting and inventory verification.
  • Assist leadership in maintaining inventory integrity across the warehouse.
  • Cross-train and support additional warehouse functions as business needs dictate.

Equipment Operation

  • Safely operate powered industrial equipment, including:
    • Forklift
    • Electric Pallet Rider
  • Complete pre-shift equipment inspections.
  • Follow all PIT safety policies and company procedures.

Success in This Role

A successful ICL / Unloader will:

  • Maintain high inventory accuracy through consistent counts and inventory research.
  • Ensure late freight and stock transfers are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Proactively identify and escalate inventory shortages before they impact operations.
  • Keep the cooler replenished and support uninterrupted warehouse production.
  • Safely unload inbound trailers while maintaining an organized and efficient dock.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by supporting inventory control, transfers, unloading, sanitation, replenishment, and picking whenever operational priorities require.
  • Promote a safe, productive, and team-oriented work environment while helping the warehouse achieve daily operational goals.

 

Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse or distribution center experience preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts and electric pallet riders.
  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, receiving, or stock transfers is preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and move product throughout the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to transition between inventory control, unloading, replenishment, transfers, sanitation, and picking throughout the workday.
