Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Data Scientist III

HOURS: Full Time/40 hours
JOB DUTIES: Serve as key contributor to driving company’s industry-leading sales growth by pairing strategic thought leadership with the latest analytic techniques in the fields of Data Science, Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (Al), and primary research. Work on Al team leveraging skills to drive outstanding consumer and employee experiences to fuel future growth. Continuously test new concepts, platforms, and technologies that drive outstanding consumer and employee experiences. Use analytical rigor and statistical methods to generate actionable insights and solutions for internal clients and mine through data to uncover opportunities. Work closely with Digital Innovation, Technology, and Operation Innovation teams, which enable understanding of key opportunities and challenges team is tasked with solving. Develop data collection strategies and analysis plans, specifying requirements. Extract, scrub, and organize data to build datasets for analysis. Identify and apply appropriate analytical methods to make sense of data. Translate results into business recommendations or interpretations. Present analysis to decision makers and while providing business recommendations based on analysis with effective presentations of findings through visual displays of quantitative information. Consult on new product deployments and incremental improvements. Interact cross-functionally throughout entire research process, from gathering requirements to sharing insights. Build and test simulation models in AnyLogic, retrieve and analyze experiment results, and prepare data sets for use in simulation. Provide support to ML developers including data preparation, experimentation, and general workflow.
*Hybrid position requiring weekly onsite work Monday through Thursday in Ann Arbor office*

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or related field of study and 3 years of experience in Data Science. Employer will accept a Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or related field of study in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 3 years of experience.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or related field of study and 3 years of experience in Data Science. Employer will accept a Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or related field of study in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 3 years of experience.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience with:
1) solving business problems with data science to effect business outcomes.
2) SQL.
3) coding in R or Python.
4) predictive modeling and machine learning techniques (to include classification, predictive, and artificial neural networks) and their real-world applications.
5) statistical techniques and concepts (to include regression, probability, properties of distributions, and statistical tests) and experience creating recommendations from the results of these techniques.
6) training models using deep learning frameworks to include TensorFlow (or similar) and network types.
7) working with APIs.
8) working in a cross-functional environment.
