Job Description

The Vice President of Infrastructure and SaaS Architecture will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's infrastructure and hosting strategy to support our business objectives. This executive leader will be responsible for providing thought leadership across the strategy, design, implementation, and management of a robust and scalable global technology infrastructure that aligns with the company's growth trajectory supporting over 90 international markets and 20,000+ stores. The Vice President will report to senior technology leadership.  

 

This role will act as an industry thought leader shaping the strategic initiative of building and providing cutting-edge eCommerce and retail SAAS offerings within a cloud and store environments globally, specifically tailored for the retail sector. The role will involve guiding the engineering of SAAS applications, with a focus on custom developed Point of Sale (POS), digital store systems, and E-commerce solutions etc.. Leveraging your extensive experience in cloud technologies, you will drive the seamless integration of SAAS offerings, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security. Your leadership will be instrumental in creating a dynamic and innovative infrastructure that aligns with industry best practices. With a proven track record in managing SAAS solutions for retail, you will play a pivotal role in transforming our technology landscape, enhancing the efficiency and adaptability of our cloud-based offerings. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead transformative initiatives, shaping the future of technology infrastructure within the retail space.  

 

Main responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership of Infrastructure & Architecture 

  • Set the vision, strategy, and roadmaps for our IT Infrastructure, Business Applications, and Daily Operations responsibilities 
  • Lead and scale broad technical teams, consultants, and managed service providers to execute on the roadmap 
  • Provide visionary leadership to drive innovation, efficiency, and scalability within the infrastructure domain 
  • Define and implement a cutting-edge infrastructure architecture that supports the organization's evolving needs  
  • Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of the technology infrastructure 
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key technology vendors 
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of services 
  • Partner with Application Development leaders to define architectures and standards for our global SaaS solutions 

Technology Adoption, Integration, Compliance 

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, recommending and implementing solutions that enhance infrastructure capabilities 
  • Oversee the seamless integration of new technologies into the existing infrastructure landscape 
  • Drive operational excellence by optimizing processes, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring the reliability of critical infrastructure components 
  • Implement best practices for incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity 
  • Ensure infrastructure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards 
  • Implement policies and practices to mitigate risks and uphold data security and privacy 

 

 

 

 

Leadership and Resource Management: 

  • Develop and manage the infrastructure budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control 
  • Collaborate with finance and other stakeholders to align infrastructure investments with business priorities 
  • Lead a high-performing infrastructure team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement 
  • Develop and mentor a talented team of professionals, promoting skill development and career growth 

Qualifications

Job requirements 

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. 
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale infrastructure projects and transformations. 
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies, cybersecurity, networking, and data center operations. 
  • Proven experience building SAAS offerings in a cloud environment in retail space  
  • Proven experience building hosted DevOps and Continuous Deployment platforms to support Products Teams accelerated development and deployment strategy. 
  • Excellent strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 

Leadership Capabilities 

  • Technical Experience: Seasoned leader of infrastructure and architecture 15 years of leadership experience of a large, global corporation. Diverse background and knowledge of other areas of technology.  
    • Building & provider for SAAS offerings in a cloud environment for retail space (managed SAAS sold to retail – POS, eComm)  
    • Experience cloud  
    • Experience with engineering of applications of SAAS  
  • Industry Knowledge: Exposure to global consumer business and retail.  
  • Strategic Business Partner: Track record of working alongside operations and senior management to drive business objectives. Ability to influence and work proactively across the organization.   
  • Leadership: Experience leading, managing, and developing talent. Track record of developing diverse teams with succession bench strength. Passion for people development.  
  • Executive Presence: Has managed multiple, complex internal relationships, including across geographic groups. Proven ability to influence and gain alignment with executive leadership.  

Additional Information

  • Candidates MUST reside in the Ann Arbor, MI area or be willing to relocate 
  • Hybrid role. Mon-Fri schedule with Mon-Thurs being onsite
