Job Description

The Project Engineer works within the Domino’s Supply Chain Services Engineering team and supports cross-functional teams within the Domino’s organization.  These engineers work includes supporting new supply chain centers builds, supply chain center relocations, supply chain center expansions, asset replacement projects and controls projects/field support.  This position will work with internal project stakeholders and external project leads to ensure the successful delivery of Domino’s Supply Chain Engineering projects.  

Main responsibilities

  • Support definition of project scopes, participation in RFP processes, acquisition of vendor quotes and creation of project budget & timelines.
  • Participate in project planning and update meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in trade pre-construction meetings with vendors and key stakeholders.
  • Commission and qualify production equipment.
  • Create purchase requisitions and process vendor invoices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure production equipment design/installation and building construction complies with internal standards and specifications.
  • Act as site lead for equipment installations, construction, and commissioning as needed.
  • While acting as Domino’s site lead, oversee vendor contractors to ensure they are complying with Domino’s standards.
  • Update all project stakeholders on project status through regular communication (i.e. onsite reports, periodic project update meetings).
  • Accurately document project plans using PM tools.
  • Update, track, and document remediation of punch list items through project completion.
  • Seek and organize feedback/lessons learned from stakeholders and team members regarding the project plan and progress.
  • Document all plans, communications, change orders, etc. so information is accessible in the future.
  • Anticipate potential project roadblocks and work with project team to develop contingency plans.
  • Provide technical support during production downtime events.
  • Travel to job site as needed.
  • Supply Chain Center visits & reports.
  • Support other functional projects as necessary.
  • Develop internal relationships (support groups, Supply Chain Center leadership, etc.)
  • Develop vendor relationships (preferred contractors, vendors, etc.)
  • Consult Master Franchisees on international supply chain projects as needed.

 

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline.
  2. Minimum 1 to 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager within the engineering or construction industry.  Work in Food manufacturing is a plus.
  3. Experience working in industrial controls is a plus.
  4. Forward thinking with the ability to understand impacts of SCC across a national and international system.
  5. Knowledge of construction management processes and best practices including software packages is a plus.
  6. Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards is a plus.
  7. Ability to deal with conflict and urgent situations.
  8. Microsoft Office skills are required.
  9. AutoCAD skills are preferred.
  10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
